I registered as a Democrat after learning about Andrew Yang

I've never been interested in politics. Not because I don't care, or don't have an opinion on whats good for my community but rather I've never seen or heard a politician who represents me. Technically I've been registered and roughly assumed that I was a republican (although I've never really like either party) but now I've changed my registration. There's only one thing I've been looking for, I'm not that picky. I want someone who who can recognize a problem, make a sensible plan to solve it, and follow through. It sounds so simple, but from everything I see, hear, and read that is not how politics work. Instead, you pick a political party to join, you find a solution in their party positions, and you apply that solution. Does the solution solve the problem? Do you even know what the problem is?

I understand that its easy to be a backseat political guru as everyone I know loves to say how much better they could do the job and could make the right decisions. I regularly feel the same way. But that is just a sign of how disappointed people are in our current politicians. 

Thankfully I've finally found a person who meets my criteria. Someone who is sensible and a problem solver. Now I probably won't see eye to eye on every issue or problem, but I feel like this a person I want to represent me because I know how he makes decisions. He doesn't ask his party how he should think, he thinks and makes an intelligent decision.

I want to share a couple of my favorite solutions to big problems that I support. 

• Freedom Dividend - there is a lot to say about this but a simple answer is that money provides proven benefits for family and children success rates in health and education. 
• Voting at 16+ - I think we need to increase participation and understanding of politics
• Modern Voting / Holiday - voting needs to be accessible and the best way to do that is technology along with holiday pay to take time to vote
• Democracy Dollars - $100 dollar voucher that every citizen gets to put towards the candidate they support. I had never thought of this but I love the idea, this combats the issue that everyone is so frustrated by. That companies have all the money and all the power. If politicians can get real money by representing the people, that would change so much

These are just a few that I think are the key issues and there are many many more I support. I love his numerous policies, well thought out plans, and the fact that he does his research to find the right solution to our problems. He doesn't just read from the "Democrat platform playbook" and do what it says in there. That's not to say many policies don't match what democrats support but hes not here to just follow their plan.
