I registered as a Democrat after learning about Andrew Yang

I've never been interested in politics. Not because I don't care, or don't have an opinion on whats good for my community but rather I've never seen or heard a politician who represents me. Technically I've been registered and roughly assumed that I was a republican (although I've never really like either party) but now I've changed my registration. There's only one thing I've been looking for, I'm not that picky. I want someone who who can recognize a problem, make a sensible plan to solve it, and follow through. It sounds so simple, but from everything I see, hear, and read that is not how politics work. Instead, you pick a political party to join, you find a solution in their party positions, and you apply that solution. Does the solution solve the problem? Do you even know what the problem is?
